Diet x Nutrition Plan

So listen, we all know that your diet and nutrition are the “make it or break it” factors in your fitness journey.

Fortunately, there’s more than one way to approach it.

In fact, there are some very distinct ways to approach eating for results in your fitness journey and its extremely important that you structure your nutrition properly from an adherence standpoint.

Almost everyone I speak to that has experienced ups and downs in their fitness journey seems to be locked in on the idea of “going on a diet” to lose weight.

While I’m not personally opposed to the idea of going on a diet, we have to understand that the entire notion of dieting is to make changes to the way you eat in order to create a quick result.

Don’t get me wrong, there is a time and place dieting:
– when you have a time specific goal
– when you need to a quick result
– at the beginning of a new program
– for a personal challenge
– even to stimulate motivation when results are slow or stagnant

The issue is that because a diet is typically a huge deviation from what you’re used to, sticking to it long term can be challenging.

And that is exactly why “yo-yo dieting” is a thing.
On your diet for a set amount of time and seeing a result, then off your diet and backtracking.

For some who enjoy a challenge , the whole thing can be fun.
But for most, its just frustrating.

That’s why I always propose following a nutrition plan instead of just dieting.

In most protocols, I’ll start a client off with a diet and slowly transition it to a nutrition plan that is sustainable as well and enjoyable.

It’s the best of both worlds.

The issue that most people experience with following a nutrition plan is that is can be a slow burn and requires patience and discipline.

No you won’t typically see quick results.
But the results you will see over time are even better because you can achieve them without having to dabble in extremes and can enjoy eating without the guilt of feeling like you’re “cheating on your diet”
